Open Air

The doors were kept open all or nearly all the time. Some men sat facing out with their feet on a skid enjoying the cooling air movement. The floors were steel plate that had little grip and few handholds were available on a UH-1 Huey. I fought to sit close to the middle of the bench seat sweating from fear of heights. (I poured sweat everyday and hour of my tour, LOTS.)
