Night Work 1

The horsepower gap between our cultures was large and in many Vietnamese farming jobs, manpower still ruled. Our vehicles needed a hard surface road while theirs traveled nearly everywhere. We dominated in speed and load capacity.

Our societies moved at such different speeds it was often hard to see one another. Their culture was geared to a steady pace, so animal-pulled carts fit in. Their pace was set by the sun and seasons while we operated on clock time.
