This side road was built to handle water buffalo and oxen traffic. Larger vehicles (ours) moving fast were too much for most local roads during the wet season. This is not a main road so American vehicles seldom used it but there are tracks showing something big did. Small boys herded the draft animals easily but the critters did not like Americans and demonstrated their dislike. They were not docile like the cattle residing around Russell, Kansas.
