This gate is a small version of the very large one at the front entrance of the main Cao Dai compound we called “The Vatican”. Some of the last 11 pictures in this gallery display the very ornate decorations of “The Vatican”. This flash of color was a welcome change from the green or brown of Tay Ninh. Green was the wet season dominant color and brown the shade of dry season. In many of my pictures small items such as bowls, beach balls and towels were our attempt to broaden the color spectrum of our surroundings and remind us of home. O.D. Green was also the main color used by the American Army.
