Supplies arrived at this remote Green Beret base on Caribou cargo planes. The Caribou could take off and land on very short runways and carried supplies to many remote locations in Vietnam. The aircraft landed, turned around and took off; nonstop. As it accelerated for takeoff, large metal plates on rollers with cargo strapped to them were pushed out the rear of the plane. This run was unusual as the cargo was unloaded while the plane sat.

We created FSB Ord outside the Green Beret camp to protect engineers resurfacing the runway. This place was near Cambodia and inside triple canopy jungle. Unexploded bombs were visible around our base.
