Canvas water bags hang from tripods in the center left of this image. This was kitchen’s water and the cooks watched it so we did not take any for showers. Inches of dirt settled out of the Army supplied water and needed to be removed from the bags every day. The silver insulated containers just left of Dave Seim held Kool-aid and presweetened iced tea without ice.

Keeping track of our water supply was important to those who wanted a shower. Some did not care if they cleaned and could be smelled from a distance. To this day I keep my promise to bathe or shower each day.
