Eagle Flight

Rapid development of storms was a danger for helicopter operation and this group arrived just ahead of a cloud burst. They were delivering an infantry group from a day of walking around looking for trouble. Too often they found it, sudden injury and death with no enemy to fight. Ambushes lasted seconds to a few minutes with the enemy retreating before payback was possible. Remotely detonated explosives left no one to shoot. Frustration at their casualties with no revenge taken ended many a day of infantry work.
Frustrating is the one word that describes most things I saw and experienced in Vietnam. I believe our total involvement in Vietnam is best summarized as FRUSTRATING!
