Black Smoke

It is likely this air attack is on a tunnel complex, as they were the major tactical problem the 25th Division faced here. A Tunnel Rat school opened in Cu Chi to train men to enter them and fight. Recruiters were constantly looking for small-framed students because the enemy made entrances too small for the average American to enter. The Vietnamese were, on average, 50 pounds lighter and 5 inches shorter than us; at first glance they could be mistaken for children. This was a big mistake as they were tough and tenacious fighters.
On a dare I entered a tunnel head first and got in just below my waist when I panicked and backed out. I am claustrophobic but fear of what might be inside that tunnel was loosening my bowels.
