Base Camp had a PX, a drinking hole, post office and a place to keep items you could not move with you in the field. Infantry men could carry less than mechanized outfits at most times and places in Vietnam; the more mobile an outfit was the less “noncombat” gear they could keep. Soldiers that worked in the base camp had a more normal life and had more noncombat items. Cu Chi, Tay Ninh and Dau Tieng were the three 25th Division Base Camps and Randys base camp pictures look like Cu Chi.
